someday vs Google Maps lists

If you only save a few places and already know their names, use Google Maps lists. They're free, on every device, and built into the app you'll navigate with. Use someday if your places come from TikTok, Instagram, DMs and screenshots and you want the reason you saved each one kept with it, or want to turn saves into a trip plan.

When Google Maps lists is the better choice

  • You're on Android or want to edit on desktop.
  • You add places by searching for them anyway.
  • You want zero new apps.

When someday is the better choice

  • Most of your places start as a video, a Reel or a friend's message.
  • You want to remember why a place is on the list.
  • You want saved places to become a dated trip plan you can share.
